Installation screws 10x Cable ties 1x Headset Audio Jack splitter 4 pole to 3 pole.June 28, One glance at PCPartPicker will show you thousands of S builds that range from budget-friendly to extremely expensive.
And while we did update the case in as the S Elite with tempered glass, the original S never got the special treatment it deserved.
Builders were stuck with a plastic side panel that did a good job at showcasing hardware, but also prone to scratches. The H not only adds tempered glass, but also features a new mounting mechanism that eliminates the need for front-facing thumb screws.
This not only makes it easier than ever to mount the tempered glass side panel, but it also provides a cleaner aesthetic while making it safer to add and remove from the case.
No more broken glass! One of the reasons builders love the S so much is because of its cable management. No matter what type of hardware you use, the S guarantees a clean build with minimal effort. However, this also requires you to bundle cables together and tie them down to the case.
The H includes the same cable routing channels found on the popular H Series case lineup. These channels guide every cable to where it needs to be and keeps everything in place with easy-to-use Velcro straps.
Needless to say, this was a common complaint from builders who felt restricted by its lack of cooling options. But as the old saying goes: looks can be deceiving. A new perforated grill that runs up along the entire front-side of the case not only improves airflow — but test results from Gamers Nexus and Hardware Canucks also prove that this design can keep up with other cases featuring mesh front panels.
Ultimately, the choice will be yours, but hopefully this blog post makes the decision easier for you! Reply 0.With a USB 3.

The other 2 are built with inferior materials and are more cramped, interior space wise. Stuka87 Diamond Member. Dec 10, 5, I was considering these cases also, but I ended up going with the Lian Li Dynamic. Of the three you mention, they all got poor airflow reviews I suggest looking at Gamer Nexus reviews of them. The Lian Li still has the cool glass look, but without the major cooling issues.
Its not perfect, but mine thus far has been doing well. Still some tweaking I need to do. I am running a X with an Hi Platinum. These modern cases are known for his or her high-stage form quality, ease to form in, and value. Shield on Amazon Specs. The originate on the refreshed NZXT H case is silent as modern as its predecessor, with a matte sad, grainy enact. The Elite mannequin incorporates a tempered glass front to mumble their maintain praises integrated RGB fanswhereas this version is a dapper featureless panel that oozes class.
On the abet, we glance a fan vent for one in all the integrated mm fans, which is as broad as you would per chance presumably well even crawl in the fan division here.
Your browser is out of date.
You earn your fashioned seven growth slots at the abet plus a double slot for vertical GPU mounting when you capture away the pre-connected bracket. With the exception of that, there would possibly per chance be cramped to chat about at the abet diversified than the highest price feel continues here too. Shield on Amazon The Facet No topic being moderately simplistic in its originate you today know that you just will most certainly be dealing with an NZXT case, with the interesting field-esteem angles and a cramped fade of visible air waft.
The tempered glass panel is a cramped diversified from diversified cases as the backside quarter is genuinely fragment of the PSU masks leaving the glass fully separate. The panels come off moderately easy, if you earn previous the thumb-screws, which, unsurprisingly, shredded my skin, so earn the screwdriver out. The abet panel featured a cramped amount of air waft at the front, which is where the harmful stress setup goes to be drawing air from.
The appropriate gripes I had with the H had been at the tip of the case, sadly. The rear fan vent has an insane amount of flex in it when when put next with the relaxation of the case which pops within and outside. When that you just will most certainly be acquainted with the predecessor, the H, then there would possibly per chance be nothing that will shock you on this refresh.
Regardless, the within incorporates a logical layout and a enticing amount of room for a mid-tower, or after all that is the design it feels.
The cable bar expertly hides the cables nevertheless also acts as a region to mount your reservoir for the water-coolers available. While you wanted extra region within the case this cable bar can even be fully eradicated. Effectively played NZXT. In direction of the front, we glance a removable bracket for fans when you wanted to commerce the airflow configuration or mount a radiator.
This appropriate simplifies the installation direction of, especially when dealing with an AIO cooler. The front is the biggest suppose you would per chance presumably well even install mm fans and there would possibly per chance be also room for a rad as a lot as mm.
In direction of the backside of the case, we glance the conventional PSU masks which serves just a few attention-grabbing purposes moreover hiding the nest ben eath. While you had been planning on water-cooling the system, the perforated fragment of the masks is one in all three locations you would per chance presumably well even mount the res.
There is also a at hand cutout for your GPU energy, saving you a cramped bit of room at the abet and on the total holding the form having a leer dapper within. Shield on Amazon The Encourage Panel The major talking show the abet of the H is the integrated cable administration brackets we glance dotted around.
The diversified major talking point is the unbelievable resolution to occupy the FP cables all rolled into one connector, lastly. Here is down to the truth motherboards are standardizing the FP, so sausage finger builders, rejoice.
In other locations, we glance the two 2. Lastly, in the decrease fragment at the abet, we glance the HDD cage, hidden, accurately. For sure, the HDD cage can even be moved forwards or backward or eradicated fully. NZXT cases are by no design vexed of choices nevertheless, in fashioned, offer PC builders a honorable quality enclosure that simplifies the constructing direction of.
The enduring H-series cases are one of the most necessary cleanest having a leer gadgets on the market and the H silent brings the same loveable parts we seen with the H Effectively-organized Create — All the issues in regards to the modern Hs look is calculated and dapper. The knowledgeable exterior looks to be improbable when blended with the uninterrupted tempered glass panel.
Furthermore, the cable bar and PSU masks crawl a protracted formulation to creating the within leer spotless, giving even the most inexperienced builders one thing to be overjoyed with. Airflow — The case is expertly designed and the two mm Aer fans that accompany the chassis work in unison to make unbelievable airflow. It is price noting that by formulation of an airflow configuration a lot like this has out of the sector, you would per chance presumably well even put a query to dirt to earn in undesirable gaps for the length of the chassis, so be willing.
Regardless, there are masses of removable dirt filters and a bracket to simplify the installation of a radiator. The Form-C connector is on the front panel, which design you would per chance presumably well even without jam connect your phone or contemporary gaming headset without needing to flow the case from under your desk.We plan to do some more testing with them soon, but for the purposes of this review we bypassed the smart device completely and controlled fan speed via the motherboard as usual.
Note also that we had written and filmed this about 3 weeks prior to publishing, but notified NZXT in between writing and now that we had found issues with thermals in the case. As such, NZXT has modified its listing and now offers an extra mm exhaust fan free for those who already bought the case with the enclosure.
The design and construction of the case remain good. NZXT has found a mix of plastic snaps and captive thumbscrews that makes the case easy to open and take apart but still solid enough to be moved around; one exception to this was the front panel, which has two tiny Philips head screws locking it in place--they keep the panel firmly mounted, but it does mean a tool is required for taking off the front pane of tempered glass as opposed to the toolless disassembly of the other panels.
The case we used for review had one small manufacturing defect, where one of two thumbscrews holding the fan tray into the case had been overtorqued to the point that it deformed the chassis and made the screw tilt sideways. NZXT has been overtightening its screws for years, at this point, since before the S Despite the defect, the fan tray is still a good feature and easy to work with. The metal of the PSU shroud is also bowed out slightly where the glass hooks under it, but that may be intentional.
We use USB 3. The FP connections have been consolidated into one plug, which makes sense now that motherboard manufacturers have almost completely standardized the front panel pinout.
A splitter is included in case of non-standard pinouts. We plan to test the Smart Device v2 in the future, but again, we skipped it for this review since our thermal tests rely on being able to control fan speeds.
The SSD trays work the same way they did in the H, clipping into either the ventilated surface of the PSU shroud or hidden away behind the motherboard tray. Before we reviewed the original H, NZXT went out of its way to tell us that the dual-fan, dual-exhaust configuration would work better than we expected, and NZXT was right. We heard loud gusts of turbulence that had us double-checking our charts to make sure the fan speeds were locked, and this noise persisted even with the fans running below max speed.
This may be an issue with the fan blade design or a combination of the case and the fans, but the turbulent behavior does create an unsteady noise, which most users find more annoying than a loud, predictable noise. We ran tests with the case noise normalized to 36dBA, without the front panel, and with our standardized fan layout. Since the H Elite is already configured this way, the only difference from stock is the type of fan.
Prior to load testing, we collect idle temperature results for ten minutes to determine the unloaded cooling performance of a case's fans and air channels.
Thermal benchmarking is conducted for seconds 23 minutesa period we've determined sufficient for achieving equilibrium. The over-time data is aggregated and will occasionally be compiled into charts, if interesting or relevant. The equilibrium performance is averaged to create the below charts. Testing is completely automated using in-house scripting, and executes with perfect accuracy on every run. Before diving in, just a quick reminder that we published an update to our case testing methodology back in June.
We are now testing noise-normalized for cases going forward, setting all cases to the same noise level with their stock fans since that is what they ship withand we also test with a standardized set of fans. This latter test, the standardized one, has several flaws that made us resist adopting the testing, but too many viewers requested it and so we added it.Rotate image Save Cancel. Next Last. Some features here: 1 x USB 3. Overall sentiment seems positive for the case. Nearby Amazon.
Their designs have certainly changed a lot over the last few years, but the bold and clean aesthetics are a big win in my mind.
Build Quality There are lots of little details and innovations throughout their cases right now. The thick metal panels, the single-screw mounting of the glass, the custom routing channels, clip-in filters, and even the audio jack.
Not only does it feel well made, but it also looks it too; which I think is important. Added Value The stock H is interesting, as the inclusion of the front panel USB Type-C and that combo headphone jack are very cool to have in this price range. You do get two very nice quality fans installed too. Should I Buy One? However, the ultra-clean design of the H makes it very appealing. Great features, phenomenal style, a choice of colours, and more, all make it easy for me to recommend this.
Last edited by Freebush on Sep 11th, am, edited 1 time in total. This is easily the best case in this price range. The build quality is superb, and it's extremely easy to work with. I got the black one on sale for a few weeks ago. Not a huge difference, but I felt it was a decent deal.
I like the overall quality minus a few minor details some places there's screws where I'd have preferred more of the kind with a knob you can can remove without tools - sorry if it sounds vague this is my 3rd language but overall very nicely built and solid.
The only other minor weakness is that there's only one usb and one micro usb to stick stuff in on top. I cant imagine it would have cost much to put two of each, but eh. Which I don't, cause I definitely wouldn't be on RFD if I wanted to pay extra for shiny lights that may distract from my monitors hahah. But still, looks good. I read it can get C degrees hotter than other cases, if that's a concern with your build. Last edited by Valamyr on Sep 11th, am, edited 2 times in total. I am in the market for a new case as the front panel is falling off my Fractal Define R3 and only being held on by packing tape.
Are there any other cases I should be considering that offer a similar balance of acoustics and air flow as the Fractal Define series? That's one of the sexiest cases I've ever seen.
